Wilton “Dick” Pryor 65, of Kernersville, NC was born in Aurora, IL September 3, 1958 to the union of Earnest and Ruby Pryor. He gave his life to Christ at an early age under the spiritual leadership of Rev. Robert Wesby (Progressive Baptist Church) and continued his Christian journey until he departed this life on November 6, 2023.
Dick attended West Aurora High School District 129 and matriculated at Western Illinois University where he completed his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at the top of his class. As his professional career progressed, he went on to work for Clarios formally known as Johnson Controls and notable executive consultant roles until the Lord called his home to reunite once again with his beloved mother Ruby.
Dick treasured time with his family and loved them immensely. He was a solid rock to his adored wife Angie of 39 years and a dedicated father and grandpa too. When visiting Aurora, you could count on Dick to be the life of the party with his larger-than-life spirit, jokes and infectious smile. Dick had a unique bond with two special friends Don “Krip” Sanders & Michael Ramsey that spans over decades. They often joked about getting into good trouble and were proud of never having a single argument. Two of Dick’s many passions were playing a round of golf on a prestigious golf course and watching professional basketball.
Dick was preceded in death by his mother Ruby Pryor, maternal grandmother Lucille Gardner, maternal grandfather Clayton Gardner, paternal grandmother Lillie Pryor, paternal grandfather Bert Pryor, mother-in-law, Rosetta Mitchell, uncle Stanley Pryor and aunt Velma Roland.
He is survived by his wife Angie Pryor, daughter Tanisha Jones, son Justice Pryor, grandchildren Joseph Vann-Jones, Taylor Vann-Jones, Maxwell Jones, great grandson Jaden Vann-Jones and a bundle of joy yet to be born.
