Tony Wayne Strickland

Tony Wayne Strickland, 58 of Graham, NC passed away August 26, 2024.
 

Tony was born in Mebane, NC to James Strickland and Deanna Sanders on April 4, 1966.  He worked for many years as an over-the-road truck driver until back pain made him stop doing what he loved. Tony would take his late cat, Smokey, with him on many adventures on the East Coast and would often take his daughter when she was not in school. When he was home, he enjoyed spending time with his children taking them hunting and fishing. His favorite thing to do was take his son catfishing. Tony used to tell his son that if he was not quiet, he would not catch any fish.

Tony is preceded in death by his mother, Deanna (Dee) Strickland; father, James Strickland; and brothers Lloyd and James Strickland Jr.

He is survived by his son, Tony (Joanna) Strickland; grandchildren, Hudson and Willow; daughter, Maggie (Earlie) Strickland; stepfather, Haywood Sanders; brother, Donnie Strickland; brother, Harry Strickland; sister, Angie (Shawn) Peck; and stepbrother, Dusty (Tiffany) Sanders.
