Taronda Michelle Hood

Taronda Michelle Hood was born on June 6, 1980, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Taronda was the cherished daughter of the late Darrell Shell, Sr. and Teaka Hood.  She left this world on February 25, 2025, at the age of 44.

A proud graduate of East Forsyth High School, Taronda was known for her unwavering work ethic and her zest for life. She approached each day with a spirit of joy and a passion for celebrating the moments that mattered most. Whether it was a family gathering, a friend's birthday, or simply a quiet evening at home, Taronda had a unique ability to bring people together, filling every occasion with laughter and warmth.

As a devoted mother, Taronda's greatest joy was her son, whom she loved fiercely. She was not only a nurturing parent but also a source of inspiration and strength, always encouraging him to pursue his dreams and embrace life with open arms. Her love knew no bounds, and her legacy will live on through the values she instilled in him.

Taronda was also known for her culinary talents, delighting family and friends with her delicious meals. Her kitchen was a place of love, where she shared not just food, but also stories, laughter, and cherished memories. Her vibrant spirit and kind heart touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. 

Taronda leaves behind a loving son, E’Ameer Mims; sisters, Lakeithia Hood, Teaka Hood-Chavis, and Sarafina Shell; brothers, Darrell Shell, Jr., LeDarrell and Leander Crockett, D’Aaron Miller, Jamal Johnson, Leander Boyd, and Trevor Connor; aunts, Marcelle Mimi and Marcelle Shell, Tammy Miller, Marilyn Lyons, Cynthia and Romel Hood, and Erica Robinson; uncles, James and Stepfon Shell, Robert, Matthew, Samuel, and Kit Hood; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends
