Stanley "STAN" Casad Obituary

Stanley “Stan” Dale Casad

December 1, 1954 – January 14, 2025

Stanley (Stan) Dale Casad, 70, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2025, in High Point, North Carolina, after spending his final days surrounded by love and comfort.  Born on December 1, 1954, in Hutchinson, Kansas, Stan spent his life traveling, dreaming big, and finding joy in the little things.

Stan never let a dream remain just a dream. He shared this message in 2017, “Do not let a dream just be a dream, make them happen,” and it reflected the way he embraced life. From chasing the perfect recipe to pursuing adventures far and wide, he was always on the hunt for the “best” life had to offer.

Stan was a devoted family man, deeply proud of his children and grandchildren, whom he adored. He was “Dad-do” to his grandkids, lovingly calling them his “little doos.” He cherished every moment he was present with them, whether tagging along to events, going to the movies or just sitting and sharing stories. His love was tangible, always expressed in thoughtful acts—fixing something that had gone neglected, running errands, picking up your favorite treat, or simply being sure to always say “I love you” at the end of every conversation.

Stan is survived by his beloved children, Kay Casad, Marc Casad (and his wife, Christina), and his cherished grandchildren: Anthony Kurzyna, Sierra A. Hughes, Lane Casad, Savanna Casad, Audrina Casad, Camden Casad, and Kaylee Casad, as well as his great-granddaughter, Kaidence Kurzyna, daughter of Anthony Kurzyna. He is also survived by his sister, Shirley Faulkner, and her children, Delorah Linden, Delayna Crooks, and Shane Faulkner; his nephew, Scott Casad Jr.; and one of his dearest friends and the mother of his children, Nancy O'Dell Hawks.

He was predeceased by his son, Kim Casad; his parents, Harold Laverne Casad and Mary Nell Self Snyder; and his brothers, Scott Casad Sr. and Steven Casad.

Stan loved fishing, boating, exploring new foods, learning new trades, and traveling to places near and far. No matter where he went, he built connections and friendships, calling many places home. Amazed by life’s smallest wonders, Stan’s curious and inquisitive nature made every day an adventure.

A private celebration of Stan’s life will take place in the coming months. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to share a memory, story, or photo to celebrate his life. Donations to the family may be made at https://bit.ly/stancasad. For inquiries or messages, please email RememberingStanCasad@gmail.com.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Gentiva Hospice and Hospice Home at High Point for their compassionate care, as well as to everyone who offered support, checked in, or shared a kind word during Stan’s final chapter.

Stan lived his life to the fullest, leaving a legacy of love, adventure, and dreams pursued. He will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
