Lady Sarah Alice Reid, was born on June 27, 1949, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, to the late Aaron F. Reid and Sarah Reid. She passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Trellis Supportive Care.
A lifelong resident of Winston-Salem, Lady Sarah was a retired employee of Walmart and a compassionate private duty caretaker. She was a faithful member of Christ Rescue Temple, where she found great joy in her love for the church and her dedication to serving others. Her kindness knew no bounds, touching countless lives throughout her community. She was a woman of exceptional talent. Her passion for crocheting and sewing left a remarkable legacy, with her artistry traveling the world—from the White House to Mother Teresa, and even the Queen of England.
Lady Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron and Sarah Reid; two sons, O’Brian Reid and Dwight Bishop; one daughter, Ethel Arroyo; one grandson, Derrick Reid; one brother, Aaron Lee Reid; and one sister, Doris M. Reid.
She leaves behind a wealth of loving memories to be cherished by her family: three daughters, Thomasina Reid, Eulla Arroyo-McDuffie, and Tasha Arroyo, all of Winston-Salem, NC; one son, Maurice Bishop, also of Winston-Salem; her beloved grandchildren, Tanyshaand Tomez Williams, Isaiah Baskins, Jamaica Brown, Antwashae Cottrell, Dazzmaquale and Daschade Bishop, Daquan Rhyne, Brandy and O’Brian Reid, Quinesha Robinson, MicaiahByrd, Phillip and Dechantawan Arroyo, Cortez Smith, Paxton and Avery Douthit, Mygirlie and Carmela Hickman, and Dorothy Tamia Davida Lewis; and her numerous great-grandchildren.She is also survived by two sisters, Claretta Reid-Ratliff and Simmeral Reid-Murphy; one brother, Ronzo Reid (Jasmine); and one devoted cousin, Joe Marlowe Grafton.
Lady Sarah’s life was one of love, creativity, and faith, and her legacy will continue to touch all those who knew her.
