Ravonne Mickle, Sr. Obituary

Ravonne Ellis Mickle, 77, passed away at his home on Friday, June 27, 2025. He was born on August 1, 1947, to James and Catherine Mickle. A graduate of Atkins High School, Ravonne spent most of his life in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, before moving to Georgia in 2014. He had a distinguished career, retiring from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company after 33 years of service, and later retired again after working as a custodian for the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools. Ravonne was a man of deep faith, previously a loyal member of First Baptist Church of Winston-Salem, Highland Avenue, and later attending Union Baptist Church with family.

Ravonne was preceded in death by his parents, James and Catherine Mickle; sisters, Lillie Blyther, and Doris Hickman; stepsister, Irene Davis; and brother, James "Coot" McCorkle.

He is survived by his loving wife, Willie Jean Mickle; his daughter, Bridgette (Gregory), Coger, his sons, Ravonne Mickle Jr., Marvin (Cornelia) Ramsey and David Ramsey. Ravonne also leaves behind a sister, Minnie Mickle, brothers, Hal (Judy) Mickle, Moultrie (Cynthia) Mickle, and John McCorkle. His memory will be especially treasured by his grandchildren, Brandon Legrande, Christopher Legrande, and Mikayla Ramsey. Ravonne was loved by so many including sister-in laws Annie (John) Hayes and Karla Shipp and niece, Jasmine Hayes as well as his great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
