Morge'n Kristopher Scriven born June 22, 1997, was a native of Winston-Salem, NC. He was the youngest son of Michael L and Sharon L. (Missy) Scriven.
He was a graduate of Mt. Tabor High School c/o 2016 where he was on the JROTC/Staff Sergeant, Junior ALE Agent and on the Wrestling Team. After graduating high school Morge'n continued his education at Livingstone College in Salisbury, NC where he majored in Criminal Justice and Minored in Sociology. He obtained both his major and minor degrees and graduated in 2020. During his years at Livingstone College, he started Morge'n's Motivation Mondays, participated in many clubs and organizations such as the Modeling Troop (The Unknown), Blue Bear Ambassador, Bridge Camp Counselor, just to name a few. Morge'n was the first and only freshman to become a member of the ALPHA PHI ALPHA FATERINITY, INC. This would forever change the intake process for not only this fraternity but for all fraternities and sororities. This was a great accomplishment for him as well as becoming Mr. Junior 2018.
Morge'n was a faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Winston-Salem, NC under Rev. Dr. John Mendez where he was also a founding member of the Rizzen Mime Ministry.
Morge'n was resilient and he was determined to reach every goal he set for himself. Through pain, sickness, hospitalizations, doctor’s appointments, and daily medication, he pushed himself and kept a smile on his face.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Ms. Sandra Scriven, Frank Scriven and James Allison, III, whom he affectionately called Poppy.
Morge'n leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Michael L. Scriven, Sharon (Missy) Scriven; brothers Antwain R. Scriven and Michael (Erica) Knight; grandparents Carolyn Allison and Pete (Kay) Lewis; uncles Calvin Lewis, Carlos (Michelle) Lewis and Carlton Scriven; aunts Brenda Murden and Lorraine Little. Morge’n was a loving uncle to Artist R. Scriven, Myles Knight and a bonus nephew Jasiah Worthen. He also leaves a host of cousins, friends and honorary aunts and uncles.
Morge'n loved his entire family and wanted the best for everyone. His Alpha Brothers supported him and were there for him even more when his health began to fail. His best bro and protégé, Devante (Wilson) and Justin Bonner Sr. encouraged him and stayed close until his final moments. We will forever love you guys for your support.
Morge'n loved life and life loved him back. His light will forever shine bright through everyone he made an impact on. His favorite Scripture was Jeremiah 29:11 that he wore proudly on his arm.
You will be greatly missed, and we will forever love you Son, Rest in Power
