Michael Leroy Shell

Michael Leroy Shell, 68, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2024, Trellis Support Care of Winston-Salem. Michael was born to Roberta S. Myers and Rossie D. Shell, Sr. on October 22, 1956. He attended Carver High School.

Michael briefly served in the United States Army and afterwards he worked in the concrete and construction business for his great-uncle Clarence Shell. In 1984, Michael was involved in an accident that left him partially paralyzed. Even with the unfortunate circumstances of life Michael still pushed through and made the best of life. For many years he lived at Forsyth Village Assisted Living on Lansing Dr. and the Oaks of Forsyth. Michael enjoyed watching television, conversating with the residents, and listening to his old school music. He had a big heart and would give you anything he had if you needed. Michael always smiled and lived life to the best of his ability even in his illness. He always had a pleasant personality and was easy-going. Michael was loved and will missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents Roberta S. Myers and Rossie D. Shell, Sr.; siblings Reginald Shell, Rossie “David” Shell, Jr., Crawford D. Shell and Cynthia Shell-Heilig.

He is survived by his sister Barbara Shell; brother Keith A. Shell; nephews, Damien (Tamyka) Shell, Chaelin Scales, Shaun Wilson and Rossie Shell, II; nieces, Alvinia (Chad) Scales, LaTosha (Shaun) Hillian, and Sariyah Hillian; and a host of cousins and friends.
