Michael Samuels Obituary

Dr. Michael Samuels, 66, transitioned peacefully on Monday, September 26h, 2022.

He was a very humble, wise, loving, kind, and generous man. He loved his family, community, church, and humanity but his greatest passion and love was the Lord Jesus Christ. Dr. Samuels poured out his life to educate, empower, enhance, and bless the lives of everyone that he encountered. His quick wit and comedic genius were admired by many.

Born in Winston-Salem, NC on May 15th, 1956 to Mary Samuels and the late James Samuels.

Dr. Michael Samuels attended North Forsyth High School here in Winston-Salem NC, later going on to play collegiate basketball for Mitchell Junior College in Statesville, NC and then to the University of New Haven located in Connecticut. In school, Dr. Samuels pledged Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and was an outstanding student-athlete as well. He excelled on the basketball court and loved his coaches and teammates.

After staying in Connecticut for twenty years, Michael decided to come back to Winston-Salem to be closer to family and continue his walk with Christ.  In December 1999, Michael became the Senior Pastor of New Trinity Baptist Church for fourteen years. While being the Senior Pastor, Michael founded the Kingdom Revelation and Restoration Ministries International, Inc, in 2013. In 2015, Michael obtained his Doctorate in Divinity from Oxford Graduate School in Organizational Leadership.

After ending Kingdom Revelation LLC In 2019, Dr. Samuels founded the M D Samuels Associates in September 2019, with the focus of finding, and implementing solutions and strategies to help individuals and organizations maximize their resources and opportunities.

Dr. Samuels loved to travel the world extensively to pour himself and his gifts into the lives of many. Another of his great passions was global transformational leadership and entrepreneurship. He believed that these were foundational keys to creating, building, developing, and managing lives, systems, communities, families, and beyond so that the possibility of personal and professional success becomes more obtainable.

Dr. Michael Samuels will truly be missed.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Bradshaw Samuels of Winston-Salem, NC; aunt Carolyn Hairston (Nathaniel), uncles Freddie Bradshaw (Debra Bradshaw), and Thomas Samuels (Polly) from South Carolina, his sisters Christy Hayden of Chesapeake, VA and Tanya Samuels of Winston-Salem, NC, brothers Kenneth Samuels of Winston-Salem, NC and Byron Samuels (Beverlyn) of Albuquerque, NM; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones.
