Mary Ann Coleman

Mary Ann Guest Coleman was born July 22, 1936 to the late LeEthel Guest, in Sunset, Louisiana.

Mary Ann lived a life defined by purpose and love. She began her journey of service as a Registered Nurse, offering healing and comfort to all in her care. Her calling to nurture others extended beyond the medical field when she became the Owner and Director of K.I.D.S.

Inc. Childcare Center in 1984. A beloved Childcare facility that faithfully served Greensboro families for forty years.

Through K.I.D.S. Inc., Mary Ann did more than provide childcare; she built a nurturing environment where generations of children could learn, grow, and thrive. Her commitment to Early Childhood Education left an indelible mark on the community. Parents entrusted her not only with their children's daily care but with their deepest hopes for their futures.

Mary Ann Coleman was a founding member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where her unwavering faith served as a guiding force throughout her life. Her heart was expansive. She often lovingly referred to members of her church family as her "adopted grandchildren." Her generosity, warmth, and kindness were felt by all who knew her.

On May 20, 2025, Mary Ann Coleman peacefully entered eternal rest, at the age of 88. A beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a cornerstone of the Greensboro community, Mary Ann touched countless lives through her compassionate spirit and lifelong dedication to serving others.

Mary Ann was proceeded in death by her husband, Eugene Coleman, and her sons Ronald and Steven Coleman. Though we mourn their absence, we rejoice in the knowledge that they are now reunited in eternal peace.

Family members left to cherish her memory include her devoted daughter Kathy C. Jefferson. She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Kia McCutchen, Vincent Jefferson and Hunter Coleman, Great grandchildren: Kaidon and Kortni' McCutchen and Renee' Jefferson. Additionally, there are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and wonderful friends.
