Loretta Mae (Chandler) Little was born December 21, 1949 in Walkertown, NC to Kenneth and Agnes (Welch) Chandler. Lorretta left this world on April 4, 2025, at the age of 75.
Loretta graduated from East Forsyth High School in 1968 as a member of the National Honor Society, and obtained a diploma from Winston Salem Business College in Data Processing Accounting in 1969. She spent her professional career as an Executive Administrative Assistant for both R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company and Market America before retirement.
Loretta was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and devoted friend. She is remembered as quiet, soft-spoken Warrior who demonstrated unconditional love to all she met. She exhibited a dedication to righteousness, mercy, and justice even in the most trying of circumstances. Her moral compass was never compromised and she guided, encouraged, and protected everyone she considered family and friends. She was a self-reliant woman who lived a life that displayed the life changing power of the Gospel in all she did as a committed Christian.
She lived and taught others to love unconditionally, be accountable for all your actions, protect those who need protection, love yourself like God loves his children. She leaves a legacy of a gentle, quiet warrior willing to go against position of powers and culture to stand for righteousness and justice.
She was welcomed in heaven by her parents Kenneth and Agnes Chandler (1994 and 2012 respectively), a brother, Thurmond Darnell Chandler (2014), and niece Stacey Fulton (1998)
Left to cherish her memory are her sister Velma Waynick (Greg); and her sons LTC(R) James Lewis, III (Kristen) and Brian Lamont Lewis-Hardy will carry her legacy. Loretta took immense pride in her role as a mother, guiding her sons to become independent, strong, compassionate, and Godly men. Her love and pride extended to her beloved grandchildren: Keegan Lewis, Chase Lewis, Trey Lewis, Kayleigh Lewis, Caitlin Lewis, and Van Lewis. She had one nephew, Dwight Fulton (Sharell). Her love and spirit touch a host of extended family members, other friends and coworkers. To know her is to understand the definition of an angel on earth.
