Obituary

Lee Anthony Gould was born on February 10, 1968 in Albany, N.Y. to the late Jessie Mae Flake Gould and Rueben Gould, Sr. Lee’s earthly journey ended unexpectedly on September 19, 2023 at his home on Utah Drive in Winston- Salem, N.C. Lee was a graduate of the Winston Salem Forsyth County Schools. He was a former member of Macedonia Worship Center and most recently attended Piney Grove Baptist Church. 

 

His career journey encompassed multiple avenues as he was a former Customer Service Specialist, Sales Associate, DJ at various Music events of which many were in the Charlotte area, a Radio Announcer with various radio stations which included WSSU WSNC 90.5 FM, N.C. A & T State University WNAA 90.1 FM and others. He was also previously employed with Burger King, Burlington Coat Factory, Taco Bell and most recently McDonald’s at North Point in Winston Salem, N.C. where he prided himself in working his way up to a Shift Leader position.
Along with the Favor and Grace of God, Lee faced life with sheer determination and strength as he survived a near fatal head-on collision in May 2022. No problem was too great or small for Lee to handle. It was that determination to live and enjoy life as Lee was a joy to be around regardless of the situation or circumstances. He was the life of the gathering or party. To know him was to love him! He truly loved his family and friends until the end.


Lee was preceded in death by his Mother, Jessie Mae Flake Gould. He is survived by his Father Rueben (Martha) Gould, Sr., Albany, N.Y., his siblings, Rueben Gould, Jr. (Flora Jean Shabazz) Winston-Salem, N.C., Martha Ann G. (Carl) West, Woodrow Gould, Sandra Gould, Albany, N.Y. and a devoted brother, Walter (Michelle) Gould, Winston-Salem, N.C., a devoted and loving Aunt, Madame Mary L. Flake (James) Haynie, Winston-Salem, N.C., Aunt Geneva Flake Horne, Lilesville, N.C., a great Aunt Nora M. Cox, Charlotte,N.C., devoted cousins Varie “Val” A. Haynie and Angela L. Haynie, Winston-Salem, N.C., devoted friends, Corey K. Hanks, Henderson, N.C., his McDonald’s Family, the Northside Dialysis Team, the awesome staff of the 4 th Floor ICU Unit at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Dr. Pantea and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
