James Dalton, Sr. Obituary

MY STORY

I was born on November 5,1944 in Rockingham County to the late Walter and Belle Dalton  I received my education in the public schools of Rockingham County where I  graduated from Charles Drew High School. I received further training in electrical work.  I worked for National Linen for many years.

After joining Emmanuel Baptist Church, I became active with the Sunday School, audio/visual ministries and Transportation.  I was an active member of the Trustee Board when my health began to fail.

On January 30, 1993, I married the one who stood by me and loved me unconditionally, Annie Hairston.  I loved my family, fishing, hunting, basketball and showing off my Ford truck at car shows.

A sister, Sandra Dalton and son, Mario Patterson preceded me in death.

Left to cherish my memory is my wife, Rev. Annie Dalton; children, James (Cookie) Dalton, Jr. of Virginia and Alicia Dalton Price of Eden, NC and Russell Patterson of Alabama; grandchildren, Chelsea (Lonnie) Roberts, Faith Price, Christopher Price, Patrice (Corie) Manns, Andrea Matthews and Tyrie Brown; sister Brenda Dalton (Rev. James) Webster; brother, Doug (Georgia) Dalton; brother-in-law Michael Hairston; sister-in-law, Emma (Rev. William) Conrad; great grandchildren, and many other family and friends.
