James Waterfus Samuels was born November 26, 1955 in Winston-Salem, NC to James W. Fair and Christine Samuels. He was a graduate from the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School System. After graduating high school, he endeavored into many careers.
James was good with his hands in construction. He was employed with Dixie Concrete for over 20 years. During his career he earned several certifications in being a brick mason, electrical operator, and roofing. He even went back to Forsyth Technical Community College where he earned certification in doing upholstery.
In James’s free time outside of work, he enjoyed being with his family and especially his grandchildren. He was known for being the life of the party and always being straight up with you. His swag and style was like no other. He was unique in how he dressed and looked at life itself. No matter what, he always believed in being himself no matter what anybody thought. James was a free spirit with a huge heart of gold.
On March 24, 2023 James Waterfus Samuels took his heavenly journey home. There waiting on him was those who predeceased him including his parents.
James is survived by his children Shawn Edmonds, Sean Samuels, Kaniyah (Deon Bethea) Samuels and James Samuels; 12 grandchildren; a brother Todd (Debra) Samuels; and a host of extended children, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
