Everette Warren Shaw

Everette Warren Shaw, a beloved father, grandfather, nephew, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025, in Atlanta, Georgia, at the age of 72. Born on October 7, 1953, Everette was a proud native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where he graduated from R.J. Reynolds High School. He attended North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, NC and graduated from Massey Business College in Atlanta, GA.

Everette built a fulfilling career in sales, accounting, and hospitality, where his warm personality and genuine care for others left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike. His passions extended far beyond the workplace—he was an avid golfer, a talented photographer, and a creative soul who found joy in crafting collages that celebrated the legacy of historical Black figures. Everette also had a deep love for cooking and was known for his culinary talents, which he shared generously through his service in the culinary ministry at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Whether playing a lively game of dominoes or cheering on his favorite sports teams, Everette brought energy, laughter, and love to every gathering.

He is survived by his devoted children, Everette Shaw, Jr. and Toiya (Calvin) Jones, both of Atlanta, GA; and his cherished grandchildren: Everette III and Evan Shaw, Bria, Calvin Jr., Christopher, Chance, Maya, Malia, and Ava Skye Jones—all of Atlanta. Everette also leaves behind his loving brothers, Richard (Barbara) Shaw, Wallace Rennicke, and Willie Rennicke of Winston-Salem; his dear aunt, Venetta Hunt of Winston-Salem; and his uncle, James Shaw of Wilmington, DE and life-long partner Charlene Scott. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends will continue to celebrate his memory and the joy he brought into their lives.

Everett’s legacy is one of love, creativity and community. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
