David Kirksey Malachi

David Kirksey Malachi was born December 28, 1975, to David K. Hardy and Laura Malachi Cage in Winston-Salem, NC. David attended and played football for Mt. Tabor High School and graduated from Glenn High School, class of 1995. At the tender age of 17, he met the love of his life, Monica, and their bond blossomed into a beautiful marriage at the age of 23. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams, becoming a true partnership in every sense.

David pursued higher education at Livingstone College, where he further honed his skills and passion for technology. His career began at Alltel Telecommunications, where he earned the affectionate nickname "Cellphone Guy" for his expertise and friendly demeanor. He later took on the role of Underground Utility & Infrastructure Investigator with various companies, including Line Quest – his most current employer, showcasing his dedication and commitment to his work. In a testament to his entrepreneurial spirit, David founded his own company, Adroit Connection Consulting LLC, where he and his wife continued to thrive together.

A family man at heart, David cherished every moment spent with his wife and children. He spoke highly of his family, always prioritizing their happiness and well-being. His warmth and kindness made him a friend to many; he never met a stranger and had an innate ability to connect with people from all walks of life.

David was also a passionate sports fan, proudly supporting the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Los Angeles Lakers. His enthusiasm for these teams was infectious, and he loved sharing that passion with his family and friends. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of David Kirksey Malachi, age 49, who left this world on March 15, 2025.

David leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering support. He is survived by his devoted wife, Monica Malachi, cherished children David Joseph Malachi and Nia Ryan Malachi; parents David Hardy and Laura (Charles) Cage; a brother Frankie (Amberly) Malachi; sisters Chattrice Malachi, Tashia Hardy, and ShaDale Hardy; a mother in love Sylvia Green; a sister in love Monique (Andre) Lewis; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
