Mr. Clemson Shell, Sr., 62, was born May 13, 1962, in Winston-Salem, NC to Lula Mae Shell and Clement Armstrong.

Clemson completed his education at West Forsyth High School. He worked for Downtown Elementary School for many years in custodial services. After retirement he continued to work in various jobs.

Affectionately known as “DJ Kimp” has a passion for music. He was the life of the party. “DJ Kimp was a disc jockey for many individuals including Toney’s Night Club, Masonic Centers, birthday events, and he was a DJ for the Parliament-Funkadelic with performer George Clinton. He enjoyed sports, fishing, and bowling. Most importantly he enjoyed being with his family and cooking on the grill. He continued to DJ until his health began to slow him down and even then he continued to do his best until the end.

Surrounded by his family, on June 27, 2024, Clemson Shell, Sr. took his heavenly flight home. He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew Ravon Shell.
