Celia Renee Speed, 57, was born on May 15, 1964, to Dorsey Speed and Evon Dillard in New York. In her early childhood she relocated to Winston-Salem. She graduated from the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System. After high school she attended Winston-Salem State University for a brief period.
“Renee” as many called her worked in many different areas, primarily in the hospitality and medical field. Outside of work she enjoyed life and being with her friends and family.
Celia transitioned from labor to reward on September 22, 2021, at Wake Forest Medical Center. She was proceeded in death by her parents and grandmother Cora Warren.
Renee is survived by her siblings Chris Speed and William “Junebug” Warren; aunt Katherine “Cat” Harris and uncle Mohammed “Tommy” Herb, cousins Mark “Donald” (Crystal) Hughes, David Harris, Harron Harris, Patricia Thorn, Mary Warren, Bunk Warren; and a host of extended cousins, family and friends.
