Mrs. Catherine Hardy Mack, affectionally known as Cat, 79 of Winston-Salem, NC, departed her earthly journey in the early hours of Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Piney Grove Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Kernersville, NC.
She was born on April 17, 1945, to Mr. Samuel Hardy and Mrs. Lula Benson Hardy. She attended the local public schools and was a graduate of Paisley High School, class of 1963.
She worked at AT&T Technologies (Western Electric) for numerous years and later retired from AMP, Inc. She attended Mercy Seat Holy Church and had a passion for softball and basketball.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Taft Mack, Jr.; brothers, Theodore, Sam, and Grady Hardy; sisters, Lillie Bonner, Ophelia Hardy, and Mamie Caldwell; and grandsons, Taft Myers, Taft “Dante” Payne, and Marcus and Marquis Mack.
Catherine leaves to cherish her loving memories, her three devoted sons, Taft (Debra) Mack, Tobias (Sandra) Mack, and Clifton (Margie) Mack; one daughter, Lori Holloway, all of Winston- Salem; nine grandchildren, Raymond, Temeshia, and Torey Brown, Tracie Conrad, Tobias, II, Zavious (TaShenma), Cameron (Mariah), Clifton, Jr, and Coleman Mack; seven great grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Alexander, Evelyn Conrad, and Burnu (Joseph) Rucker; three sister in laws, Hattie (Otis) Alexander of Darlington, SC, Maxine Adams and Ernestine Mack of Richmond, Va.; two God-daughters, Sandra Sherard and Michelle Myers; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
