Cassandra Brannon Banner
January 14, 1948 – December 15, 2025
Cassandra Brannon Banner, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her residence on December 15, 2025. She was born on January 14, 1948, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, to the late Edward and Kathaleen Brannon.
Cassandra graduated with the Class of 1966 from Paisley High School, later earning her Associate’s Degree and attending Winston-Salem State University. She dedicated her career to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Forsyth Medical Center.
Faith was central to Cassandra’s life. She grew up in Friendship Baptist Church and later became a devoted member of Temple of Glory under the leadership of Bishop Willie Cremedy. She raised her family in the Carver Community, where she was known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love. Cassandra met no stranger and was always ready to help anyone in need.
She found joy in cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs and relaxing with her favorite Westerns. Above all, Cassandra cherished her family, who will carry forward her legacy of love and compassion.
Cassandra was preceded in death by here parents and her two brothers Alphonso and Theodore Brannon.
She is survived by her sons Raymond Banner, Jr. and his wife Lisa, and Raymond Banner III and his wife Torrie; grandchildren Portia Walker and her husband Shareef, Chemeka Banner, Jalissa Banner-Malachi and her husband Dwight, Ja’lyn Brown, Josh Banner, Aaliyah Banner, Raymond Banner IV, Isaiah Banner, and Elijah Banner; great-grandchildren, Javad, Jairez, Caela, Sire, Gizzelle, Koby, and Sanaa, siblings Edward Brannon, Francis Brannon Williams and her husband Carl, and Thomas Brannon; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Cassandra will be remembered as a giver, a nurturer, and a woman whose love touched countless lives.
