Alphonso L Gaydon, Sr

Alphonso Lee Gaydon Sr. was born on July 22, 1943, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He attended Atkins High School and subsequently served with distinction in the United States Army, achieving the rank of Captain. He received an honorable discharge from active duty following his service during the Vietnam era.

During his formative years, Alphonso was significantly influenced by his stepfather, Clarence Johnson Sr., who played a pivotal role in his upbringing and development into the individual he became.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Geraldine Gaydon, who will cherish his memory.

He is also survived by his children: Alphonso Gaydon Jr. and Patrick Gaydon, as well as Stacey Sutton, Karen Sutton, and Kelvin Sutton.

Furthermore, he is survived by his siblings and extended family, including Shirley Stowe, Clarence Johnson Jr., and Christopher Johnson.

He was preceded in death by Judy Wilborn, Janice Johnson, and Joshua Gaydon.

Alphonso Sr. was blessed with numerous grandchildren, including Ashanti Gaydon, in addition to a multitude of other beloved grandchildren, relatives, and friends who will continue to uphold his life and legacy.

He found great enjoyment in following the Washington Redskins, supporting the Los Angeles Dodgers, and indulging in classic Western films. These simple pleasures brought him happiness and reflected his genuine interests.

He will be remembered for his dedication, resilience, profound love for his family, and the enduring impact he had on all those whose lives he touched.
