DEATH CERTIFICATES

Certified copies of death certificates may be obtained from the county in which the death occurred. It generally takes five to seven days to obtain death certificates. In Medical Examiner cases, the length of time may vary greatly, sometimes taking six months or more. You should be aware that if your intentions are to conduct business on behalf of the estate of the deceased, certified copies are generally required. At the present time, the cost is $10 per certificate. It is our policy to acquire death certificates for the next-of-kin whenever possible, or you may contact the county directly:
